Young writers from four Visegrád countries working together to create a five language anthology of short stories.
Our plan is to build a personal network between at least 20 authors, 5 editors and some translators from V4 countries (three male, three female participants from each group, aged between 20 and 35; 5 authors and 1 editor from each group). In the first period of the project we would collect, translate and select works (max 3 pages long) from young writers, and post it on our project-designated social media pages. During this process we would start to create the network among them, and by the summer of 2025 we would host them in a writing camp close to Visegrád, Hungary for a week. We would organize workshops for them to get to know each other, to translate together and then to represent themselves in an international literature event in Budapest. During the camp we discuss the texts brought by the authors, we create new translations which we will put in the anthology, and organize our appearance with PesText. Later we would edit and print the anthology and each participating organization would organize their own book launch, so the participants are not just building an international network, but they also work in every step of creating an international literature product. One of our aims is to present young authors so our project’s visibility is very important. The final product will be available for everyone, not just during the festival and the book launches, but in our websites and social media platforms as well. By the end of the project young authors should have a network which includes friendly young authors, and also literature organizations from the V4 countries.
The participating organizations are Ctrrl+V International Association as hosts from Hungary, Wind Mills Ltd. from Czechia, Horska Lucerna from Slovakia and Active Communications Society from Poland. https://www.vetrnemlyny.cz/ https://cultrural.com/ https://tak.net.pl/ https://www.horskalucerna.sk/
